Job Interview Preparation

Once you receive the appointment to present yourself to a job interview, the next thing you have to do is prepare for it. You never have to prepare for an interview. The more prepared you are, the harder it will be to make mistakes. It is best to prepare emotionally and intellectually for an interview. Doing a great interview is not as difficult as some may think, but it is not as easy as others expect.

Here are some things you should do to prepare for your next interview. Remember, during an interview, you are a salesperson. It's there to sell you to your prospective employer. You want to attract him in the most interesting way possible, then preparing for that interview is your best bet.

A seller who is knowledgeable, kind and positive always gets the sale or in this case the contract. Do your research, no matter how much knowledge or experience you have about the job you're trying to get, if you have no idea what company it is or what they do, it will be disastrous to go into an interview and not be able to tell your interviewer To what your company is dedicated. How else are you going to tell them why you feel like you would be a good prospect for the position in your company?

A good way to get to know a company is by searching for their website. There you can get all the data about them, including the names of key people and their jobs. (There will be more in that in a minute) You should browse through most of your pages, including the pages that show your work and / or products. You can also search them in media files if there is something important about them and soak as much as possible.

Another thing that would be good to do is to check the areas around the company, that is a key point to talk during the interview. You can make a comment about a particular monument or resting place nearby, this will give you some extra points.

A more complicated way to get some extra information about the company is to call them up and ask general questions, not mentioning that you are interested in a position as a potential employee. It is a good way to get extra information on upcoming promotions etc.

Meet your contact or interviewer

When you are asked to interview, ask who you are going to introduce yourself to. It is nice to be able to greet your interviewer by name since the beginning of the interview without being told first who they are. This proves that this interview is important to you, and you come prepared in advance.

You could also do some research on the person who interviewed you. Learn what they do for the company and try to get some of their achievements in the company. If you know which department is going to work, you may want to get the names of your colleagues and superiors before the interview as well.

This way you can get information about your roles in the company and the types of work you have done. Mention some of the things you learned about your colleagues in the interview and how much you would like to work with them in the future.

Practice your answers

This is better, if you are prone to nervousness, practice giving your answers to the questions that you can ask. (A list of the most common questions will appear later in this blog.) Practice your phrases and the tone of voice you plan to use; Try to keep your answers as short as possible, but in greater detail.

When you are practicing the right answers to the interviewer's questions, you will also want to practice the art of keeping your nerves in check, as well as avoiding any other strange habits as you speak; Like moving your hands too much.

Practice answering interview questions with a friend. Get your opinion on your answers and gestures. Maybe your friend will have some interesting ideas to use during the actual interview.

The way you dress

Pre-select your clothes one day before the interview. Make sure your clothes do not have wrinkles or blemishes. Choose the best outfit that suits the type of job you are applying for. If you go to work in an office you must dress conservatively.

For Women: Try to avoid mini skirts and blouses that show too much skin. Of course if you are planning to work outdoors, you can dress a little more casual. Women should try to avoid wearing too much makeup as well. You could give the wrong impression.

Even in warmer seasons, you should not wear sandals or tennis to an interview. You will send an unprofessional message. The same goes for hats and other accessories.

Organize yourself

Ensure that all the things you will need for the interview are ready from the day before. Make a list of things you will need if necessary. You should always have an additional resume on hand during the interview.

You should also bring a notebook to take notes during the interview if necessary. (Write only the important things that you think you'll need to remember) If you have a personal card give it one, make the contact easier later and it also shows that you are a professional and can help the employer remember your name.
